Ginger and Turmeric – Health Bomb

Elixir for Detoxification and Immunity – Recipe

This recommended elixir can be the solution to all the health problems we’re dealing with. The recipe includes ginger, turmeric, lemon and honey. This powerful combination will help eliminate the toxins from the digestive system and the liver, boost immunity, prevent colds, offer relief from pain and improve the nutrient absorption.

Ingredients

– ½ cup of honey

– 2-4 teaspoons of grated ginger

– 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder

– 1 lemon (grated peel and juice)

– A pinch of black pepper

Preparation

Mix all these ingredients in a bowl and keep the mixture in a glass jar with a lid. Boil a cup of water and after it has cooled down, you can add 2 teaspoons of this ginger and turmeric solution. Drink this tea while it’s still warm.

Effects

Turmeric acts similar to or better than the anti-inflammatory medicines. A 2004 study has shown that the curcumin in the turmeric is as efficient as pills like aspirin, ibuprofen, phenylbutazone or indomethacin in its anti-inflammatory activities over the tumor cells. Turmeric helps in treating fever, digestive problems and infections.

Ginger is a miraculous root with an amazing capacity of reducing chronic pain by diminishing the hormonal levels that cause the inflammation. A 2005 study suggests that ginger can offer a much better relief from pain than NSAIDs. The lab tests have proven that the ginger extract can even slow down the development of the cancer cells (in ovarian and colorectal cancer). At the same time, it can offer protection against Alzheimer’s disease.

Ginger also has antibiotic properties and can be used for detoxification, digestion, infections, inflammations, joint pain, circulatory system, nausea and vomiting or motion sickness.

Lemon is a liver cleanser thanks to its stimulating effect over the liver cell. Lemons help eliminating the toxins (uric acid) and stimulating the bile secretion. For this reason, lemons are included in almost all detoxification diets. These fruits also contain flavonoids, antioxidants that neutralize the free radicals associated with premature aging and cellular damage.
