The Juice that Helps You Get Rid of Gout

Gout is a debilitating condition that causes a huge amount of pain. It usually occurs in persons that have high levels of uric acid in their blood. What’s interesting is not every patient who suffers from hyperuricemia develops gout. This medical condition is pretty scary because up to 60% of the ill persons never show any kind of symptoms. It is still a mystery to the medical world why only a few patients develop gout while others do not. The only thing that is sure is the fact that the symptoms appear because of urate crystals in tissues. In most cases, the most affected part of the body are the joints. In isolated cases, urate crystals can form in the urinary tract.

What Are the Symptoms?

Flares are spontaneous episodes of severe joint pain. The manifest through swelling, tenderness and redness of the joint. Even though the target of an attack is a single joint, some unlucky people develop more inflamed joints at a time. The flares take place usually overnight and in the early morning hours. However, they can also appear at any time of the day. The inflammation and pain reach their maximum intensity within a few hours. Generally, they improve by themselves after a few days or weeks. Also, you should know that the body fights a gout attack by itself.

What Is Happening to the Joints?

The excruciating pain appears when the cells in the joint and white blood cells try to absorb and enclose the urate crystal deposits. The cells discharge chemical signals that amplify the redness, pain and swelling correlated to a flare.

The Cure

Drinking or eating cherry products eases the healing process. Cherries have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidants properties, so you can eat as many as you can each day. By doing that, your body will neutralize more uric acid than usual. Now, let’s see how this natural juice is made.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of lemon extract
  • 16 ounces of fresh cherries
  • ½ pint of water
  • 2 tablespoons of raw honey
  • 1 bottle of sizzling spring water

Preparation:

Make sure you don’t forget to wash the fruits rigorously. When there are no more seeds left in your cherries, you can add them in a pan, along with the raw honey. You must leave the mixture at a low heat until it reaches the texture you are more convenient with. You might want to squash the cherries meanwhile. After you turn off the heat, cover your pan and keep it for 2 hours at room temperature. When the mentioned time has passed, mix ½ pint of water and blend until the composition becomes homogenous. Turn on the heat again and let it boil. You may want to stir the concoction once in a while, to make sure it remains smooth. When the liquid turns into a syrup, filter it and pour it in a jar. The content that remains after the filtration process can be used for other purposes so don’t throw it away. Now it’s time to enjoy your drink! Just add 2 tablespoons in a cup of carbonated water, add the lemon extract and there you have it!
