The book

The idea of eating according to your blood type came from a naturopathic doctor named Peter D’Adamo. He wrote a book about how to eat properly for your blood type, named “Eat Right For Your Type: The Individualized Diet Solution to Staying Healthy, Living Longer & Achieving Your Ideal Weight”. In this book, he explains how to have a balanced diet and how our diet should be influenced by our blood type.

Inside the pages of the book, the doctor explains why it is so important to eat according to our blood type in order to keep ourselves healthy and away from diseases. If you eat something that it is not good for your blood type, you will see the echo in your health, in the future. Even the workouts that we choose to make have an influence on our blood type.

How does it work?

The lectins in our body can harm our health by simply not corresponding to the blood type that we have. It is very important to eat foods that are good and healthy for our blood type in order to maintain our bodies on the right track.

The human blood types

Humans have 4 blood types that influence their lives, the way they do certain things and the way they eat.

A blood type

It appeared 20.000 years ago, when agriculture was the main way of producing food. According to this, the people who have blood type A should be vegetarians. They should eat fruits and vegetables, grains, beans and should avoid meat because, in large amounts, it can harm their lives. Because of their immune system, they need to take care of what they eat and their diet should be based on organic and fresh food. Their meals should contain: soy, avocado, nuts, peaches, berries, figs, grains, vegetables. They should avoid dairy products and meat.

O blood type

Being one of the oldest blood types in the world, it needs a lot of meat proteins. Those who have blood type O should have a diet based on fish, meat and vegetables, more exactly seafood, red meat, chicken, broccoli, kale and spinach. They should avoid: grains, eggs, lentils, beans, dairy products and peanuts.

B blood type

This is the blood type which appeared 10.000 years ago, and it’s the most versatile from all existent blood types. The persons with this blood type should consume red meat, fruits, fish, turkey, vegetables and grains. They should avoid chicken, corn, lentils and seeds.

AB blood type

This blood type appeared 1000 years ago. It is a combination between blood type A and blood type B. Those with this blood type should eat fish, tofu, vegetables, seafood, watermelon, turkey, apples, beans and bananas. They should avoid red meat and corn.

So, try to make some changes in your diet according to your blood type and you will see that you’ll feel better and healthier.
