Pure Oils and Lemon Juice for Toenail Fungus

Onychomycosis or the toenail fungus is a problem that occurs both in women and men. The most common symptoms associated with this condition are nail crumbling or thickening, inflammation, yellowing of the nail, extreme pain and swelling. This type of fungus can be caused by diabetes, wearing synthetic socks, poor hygiene, low immunity system, sweaty shoes or overexposure to moist environments. Orange Oil
Pure orange oil can be an effective remedy against toenail fungus because it has antifungal properties. Use a dropper to apply this oil between on the affected areas. Allow the orange oil to cure for about 60 minutes. Repeat the treatment every day. You can also mix the orange oil with grape seed oil. Be careful because the orange oil can come with side effects and allergic reactions. That’s why is always better to test it on your skin before applying it on the toenail fungus.
Tea Tree Oil
Another efficient oil is the tea tree oil. It has fungicide properties and it is widely used in the remedies for toenail fungus. It can also treat various skin infections. Use pure tea tree oil and pour a few drops on a cotton ball and then rub in on the affected area. Do this for about 10 minutes and with a toothbrush you must scrub the infected nail really gentle. You can also mix the tea tree oil with thyme oil or olive oil for e better effect.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice comes with antifungal and antiseptic properties. It also contains citric acid and can prevent the spreading of the toenail fungus. Prepare some fresh lemon juice and put it on the affected nail. Let it cure for 10 minutes and then use warm water to wash the area. Repeat the process every day for about 30 months or until the fungus disappears.
White Vinegar
The toenail fungus can be efficiently treated with white vinegar. Mix warm water (2 parts) with white vinegar (one part) and then use the solution to soak your toe(s) in it. Let it soak for 15 minutes and do this every day until you see any improvement. If you feel your skin irritated, you should use more water to dilute the vinegar. Dry the affected area immediately after rinsing with water because otherwise you can encourage the spreading of the fungus.
Baking Soda
This ingredient can be found in very kitchen. So, if you suffer from toenail fungus, you should grab it on and use it immediately. Mix Epsom salts (1/2 cup) with peroxide (1/4 cup), hot water (4 cups) and baking soda (1/2 cup). Combine the ingredients and at the end, add some white vinegar (1/4 cup). Soak your infected toenails in vinegar solution and after that apply on the affected nails the mixture you have prepared. Cover the toe(s) so that the solution can cure. Use this remedy every 10 hours and repeat the treatment for one month.
Or….you could get to the ROOT of the issue in the first place and fix the candida in the gut but a nice soak of the feet certainly won’t hurt. 🙂
