LAVENDER – a fragrant remedy for IMMUNITY, NERVOUS and DIGESTIVE systems
Lavender is more than a beautiful smelling flower. It has an impressive healing power. In traditional medicine, this herb is an efficient remedy for nerve disorders, such as anxiety, depression, panic attack, stress, insomnia and restlenssness (associated with dementia.
Lavender’s calming scent helps relieve muscular tension, headaches and migraines, reduce nervous fatigue and soothe digestive spasms.
This flower has immunostimulatory, antiviral and antibacterial properties, therefore it can be useful in fighting sore throat caused by bacteria and other flu symptoms.
It is also recommended in chest infections, tonsillitis, intestinal infections, candida and fever. In these cases it can be associated with melissa, chamomile or rose petals.
Clinical trials have shown that lavender essential oil can fight resistant bacteria when used externally, such as methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

Lavender remedies
• For better immunity
When consumed periodically, lavender tea can help strenghtening immunity during the cold and flu season. Add a little bit of honey and this remedy will be good for sore throat. Drink 3-5 cups of tea a week and repeat after a week break.
• For allergies
Lavender is a herb with a balancing effect. It helps stimulate the immune system and also reduces an hyperactive immune system that can cause many allergies and sensitivities.
Drink 1-2 lavender tea cups a day, one week and repeat after a week break.
• For anxiety and depression
Both the pleasant smell of lavender and internal consumption of this herb can help echilibrate the serotonin level, an important brain and intestinal neurotransmitter.
Unbalanced serotonin can affect many functions within the body, such as digestion and emotions, causing numerous health issues: low immunity, sleep disturbances, food cravings (bulimia), depression, anxiety, stress and aches.
Lavender tea can reduce the cortisol (stress) level and regulate adrenaline. You can drink 1-3 cups of tea a day.
• For regulating glycemia
Lavender has balancing effects on pancreas as well. It regulates the insulin production and helps stabilize the blood sugar level in patients with non-diabetic reactive hypoglycemia. Drink 1-3 cups of unsweetened tea a day.
• For chronic fatigue syndrome
Lavender influences the neurochemicals in the brain and the adrenal glands, so it can be used to reduce the chronic fatigue syndrome. Drink 1-2 cups of tea a day, without sugar.
• For digestive issues
Lavender tea is a good choice for calming an upset stomach, reducing nausea, intestinal gas and flatulence. A warm lavender infusion can increase the good bacterial flora and help fighting the bad bacteria growth.
Lavender tea is also a good remedy for nervous stomach ache and nightmares in children. They can have half a cup of tea, 2 times a day (with the spoon). Adults can drink 1-3 cups a day.
• For insomnia
A cup a lavender tea with 30 minutes before bedtime can help relax the body, calm the mind and induce a good night sleep in people dealing with insomnia. It is recommended to have a concentrated lavender tea.
Use 1 – ½ teaspoons of dried lavender flowers for every cup of hot water. Let the flowers infuse for 10 minutes.
