Secrets of Apple Cider Vinegar for a Sinus Infection

The secret is to take apple cider vinegar before the sinus infection occurs, which for most people is at the start of allergies, colds, flu, etc. We have found that when apple cider vinegar is taken either as a daily tonic or at the first sign of an allergy or cold (i.e., sinus headache, stuffy nose, watery eyes), one can completely stop the histamine response or allergic reaction.

Once you have thinned mucus, you can clobber the sinus infection with one of many remedies. Wild oregano oil is one of our favorites for bacterial infections, but grapefruit seed extract is also very potent. Whatever remedy you try, remember to keep sipping apple cider vinegar throughout the day for several days and drink lots of water.

What is a Sinus Infection?

A sinus infection often presents initially as the common cold. However, this infection involves the additional inflammation and swelling of the sinuses. The condition occurs as the sinuses become blocked with fluid in which bacteria grow. As the bacteria grow, additional congestion and sinus pain occur. Sinus infections are often characterized by thick yellow nasal discharge, pressure around the face and eyes, headache, congestion, post-nasal drip, and a fever or cough.

While a number of treatment options are available, many options are ineffective for actually remedying a sinus infection. Apple cider vinegar, however, can safely and effectively remedy a sinus infection and a range of other conditions.

How apple cider vinegar works:

Apple cider vinegar contains an array of nutrients including vitamins B1, B2, A, and E, calcium, and magnesium. These nutrients help clear the sinus cavities and treat allergy symptoms. Additionally, ACV thins mucus almost immediately. One of the first things you will notice after drinking apple cider vinegar is that the color of your mucus goes from white or green and thick, to thin and clear. The thinning of mucus is the key to kicking your sinus infection.

Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic for Sinus Infections

Apple cider vinegar can be used in a couple of different ways to treat a sinus infection.

  • To form a tonic for internal use, mix 1/8 to 1/4 a cup of apple cider vinegar into 16 ounces of water. Sip the tonic throughout the day. Alternatively, you can gulp up to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of water all at once.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse for Sinus Infections

  • Add 2 tablespoons of organic and raw apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm filtered water. Stir solution until thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour some of the mixture into your palm and snort it up one nostril at a time. Use your other hand to plug the free nostril. Do this on the other side.

Remember, the key for treating a sinus infection with apple cider vinegar is to catch and treat the infection as early as possible. If you catch the condition early, you’ll be able to quickly eradicate the condition and prevent further issue.
