Rutin Dosages

Take at least 500 mg of rutin on a daily basis. A higher dose will be recommended depending on what medical condition you are trying to treat.

  • Hemorrhoids – 500 up to 4,000 mg of rutin per day.
  • Varicose veins or venous insufficiency -1,000 mg of the rutin per day
  • Spider veins – up to 4,000 mg a day for up to 4 months
  • Phlebitis caused by birth control pills – up to 3,000 mg of rutin every (make sure you consult a doctor first)
  • Venous insufficiency – 500 mg of rutin three times a day.

Although rutin is generally safe for human consumption, rutin supplements can have some unpleasant side effects such as flushing, rashes, headache, stomach upset or nausea, especially when taken in large amounts. They may also interact with certain medications prescribed by your doctor, and it is not recommended for pregnant and nursing women. Rutin is safe if it’s consumed in the amounts found in food.
