Relieve any Digestive Problem with Lemon Balm and Mint Tea Blends

Even the healthiest of us will suffer now and then from a digestive disorder and it’s no doubt that no one needs to be told how important it can be to have the right remedy at hand. Besides, if you become familiar with the medicinal properties of certain herbs, you can also make yourself a cup of tea now and then, if not to specifically prevent say, the effects of an eventual food intoxication, then at least for the excellent taste of all the following tea blends.

13 - Mint tea

For functional gastropathy (gastric neurosis) and vegetative dystonia

Mix 30 g of dried lemon balm and 30 g of dried mint. Add 2 tablespoons of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water and let steep for 15 minutes. Drink 2-3 cups a day.

For chronic gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcer and biliary duct problems

Mix 20 g of dried lemon balm, 20 g of fennel seeds, 20 g of dried mint and 20 g of dried calamus root. Add 1 tablespoon of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water and let steep for 10 minutes. Drink as hot as possible, 2-3 cups a day.

For gastrointestinal cramps

Mix 30 g of dried lemon balm, 15 g of fennel seeds, 20 g of dried mint and 10 g of dried valerian root. Add 2 teaspoons of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water and let steep for 10 minutes. Drink while still warm, 2-3 cups a day.

For intestinal cleanse

Mix 10 g of dried mint, 10 g of dried brotherwort and 10 g of dried thyme. Add 1 tablespoon of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water and let steep for 10 minutes. Drink 2-3 cups a day.

For diarrhea

Mix 20 g of dried mint, 30 g of blueberry fruits and 30 g of dried cinquefoil rhizomes. Add 1 teaspoon of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water. Drink 3-4 cups a day.

For choleretic, cholagogue and anti-inflammatory effects

Mix 15 g of dried mint, 10 g of dried horehound, 10 g of dried agrimony, 10 g of dried motherwort, 10 g of dried immortelle flowers, 10 g of dried chamomile, 20 g of buckthorn bark and 5 g of dried lovage root. Add 1 tablespoon of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water and let steep for 10 minutes. Drink 2 cups a day, between meals.

For gastrointestinal inflammations associated with biliary dysfunction

Mix 5 g of caraway seeds, 5 g of fennel seeds, 15 g of dried mint and 50 g of dried chamomile. Add 1 teaspoon of this mixture in a cup of hot boiled water and let steep for 10 minutes. Drink 3-4 cups a day.
