Coconut Oil Benefits

Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids, Vitamin E and proteins, which are all essential if you want to have a beautiful, healthy skin. Coconut oil naturally clears away dirt, dead skin cells, and grime. It even has antibacterial properties, which means that it can kill off harmful bacteria.

This oil softens and moisturizes the skin, helping you with skin dryness.

Green Tea Benefits

Green tea is filled with nutrients and antioxidants that have powerful effects on your skin. It can reduce sun damage, inflammation and stop free radicals from destroying healthy cells. Green tea also reduces wrinkles and rosacea, improves collagen production and hydrates the skin.

Since ancient times, green tea has been used in the Japanese culture to heal and soothe the skin. Green tea is also used to flush toxins out from the skin and to fight acne-causing bacteria.

Salt and Sugar Benefits

Salt and sugar can be used as exfoliating agents. So instead of buying products that contain harmful substances for the skin, you can use these two ingredients to wipe out dead skin cells. Depending on your skin type, you can use sugar as a gentler exfoliating agent or salt which is more abrasive.

Coconut Oil and Green Tea Scrub

You need one green tea bag, 1/4 cup of filtered water, 1 cup of coconut oil, 1/4 teaspoon of Matcha green tea powder and 1/2 cup of sugar or salt.

Brew a cup of strong green tea and let it cool at room temperature. Mix the oil, sugar (salt) and Matcha powder until you get a fine paste. Add 1/8 cup of the green tea and mix well. You can keep this paste in an airtight recipient and use it to gently exfoliate the skin.

Coconut Oil and Matcha Green Tea Mask

You can also prepare a hydrating and moisturizing mask using Matcha green tea powder and coconut oil. Take 1/2 tablespoon of Matcha, 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1/2 tablespoon warm water. Mix all the ingredients until you get a fine paste. Use your fingertips to apply it on your skin. Leave it for 20 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water. You can use it 1-2 times per week.

By using natural ingredients, you make sure that you do not poison your skin with the chemicals and preservatives contained in the cosmetic creams and lotions available on the market. Both green tea and coconut oil are easy to find in any store with natural products. Make sure that you use extra virgin coconut oil, because it contains the highest quantity of nutrients.
