Natural Treatments for Hair Loss

Every day, a person loses somewhere between 50 to 100 strands of hair. However, some confront with excessive hair loss or even bald patches (known as alopecia). But look on the bright side, because there are a few home remedies you can use to prevent hair loss or to help your hair grow back.

Home remedies to control hair fall

Onion and garlic

Sulphur increases the production of collagen which in turn helps the hair to grow. Onion and garlic are loaded with sulphur and this makes them a powerful remedy to regrow hair.

Directions:

Chop the onion into fine pieces and squeeze some of the juice out. Apply this to the scalp and leave on for 15 minutes.  After 15 minutes, rinse with a shampoo. You can do the same with a few a cloves of garlic and add in coconut oil and boil for several minutes. When this mix cools down, simply apply it on the scalp using circular motions. Repeat this treatment 2-3  a week.

Coconut

Coconut provides lots of ingredients that naturally condition and help your hair to grow. Coconut milk contains proteins, fats and minerals like as potassium and iron. Coconut makes the hair stronger from the root, through the shaft to the tip.

Directions:

Grate coconut and squeeze out the milk by mixing in a little water. Apply this to the specific parts where you notice balding. Let it  stay overnight and the next morning, rinse off with a bit of water.

Henna

Henna is natural hair color and conditioner used mostly in the Asian countries. However henna has a major part to play in strengthening hair. When it is combined with mustard oil, it does wonders.

Directions:

Take 250 ml of mustard oil in a tin can, add in 60 g of washed and dried henna leaves and boil until the leaves get burnt. The next step is to filter the oil using muslin cloth. Cool and store the oil and then use it to massage hair on a regularly. You can also use a hair renewal pack that consists of 1 cup of the dry powder of henna leaves mixed with half a cup of curd. Apply to the hair and allow to dry, afterwards wash with cool water and a shampoo.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus is the secret to the thick hair. Hibiscus has rejuvenating qualities because it nourishes the hair, prevents greying and cures dandruff.

Directions:

Crush several hibiscus flowers and mix with sesame oil or coconut oil to obtain a paste. Apply this to your scalp and hair, leave on for a few hours and then rinse off.

Eggs

Eggs are rich in  sulphur and they contain a lot of like as selenium, iodine, iron and zinc. These minerals promote hair regrowth, especially when they are mixed with a few tablespoons of olive oil.

Directions:

Use the white of one egg and mix in a teaspoon of olive oil. Beat until you obtain a paste-like consistency and apply to the your scalp and hair. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water and a mild shampoo. Use these twice a week to see results.
