A recent survey made by Iranian scientists has shown that the mix of garlic and lemon juice has beneficial effects on lipids and improves the cardiovascular system.

The study was concluded on 112 patients with hyperlipidemia

The recipe of garlic and lemon juice was tested on an etalon of 112 patients that suffer from moderate hyperlipidemia, with ages between 30 and 60 years old. Being a major risk factor for arteriosclerosis, hyperlipidemia signifies an abnormal growth of lipids in the blood stream.

The patients were divided randomly into 4 groups:

  • the first group was given 20 g of garlic per day, plus a tablespoon of lemon juice
  • the second group was given 20 g of garlic per day
  • the third group was given one tablespoon of lemon juice per day
  • the fourth group has received neither garlic nor lemon juice

After the eight weeks of trial, the results showed the following:

  • On the first group, there was a notable decrease in the total cholesterol, the LDL cholesterol, and the fibrinogen (which is a coagulation factor of the blood).
  • Also, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and the body mass index have dropped significantly.

The necessary ingredients for the recipe are: garlic, lemon juice, and honey

  • 100 g of poly floral honey
  • 100 ml of lemon juice
  • 20 cloves of garlic

Preparation

The garlic cloves have to be cleaned and crushed and then placed in a jar. After that, you can add the honey and mix them well together. Then you add the lemon juice and blend everything with a wooden spoon.

The jar must be sealed and kept in the fridge.

Administration

Every evening, you dissolve a spoon of the mix in a glass of warm water and drink it.

After you finish the mix, you take a 7-day break, and afterward, you repeat the treatment.

Note

Do not increase the dosage of the ingredients because the mix can be kept even in the fridge, 3 or 4 days at most.

The beneficial effects of garlic

A study made at the University of Kuwait showed that garlic has an excellent effect on the human body, by reducing the cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. Other studies have come to the same conclusion, which is that garlic, a well-used ingredient in cooking, has lowered the cholesterol level and its usage is safer than prescription drugs.

The results conclude that the consumption of garlic can reduce the risk of developing coronary problems by 38%.

Also, the lemon juice and even its peel have favorable effects on the cardiovascular level, by lowering the plasmatic cholesterol in the liver and the blood pressure and it also helps in case of obesity.

Honey, a natural energizer, offers the organism a boost, and also adds a sweeter taste to the recipe.
