Homemade Chestnut Salve for Burns, Skin Cracks and Hemorrhoids

For medical purposes, it is advisable to use wild chestnuts. You can distinguish them from the poisonous ones thanks to their dark-brown color and outside greenish, spiky covers. The inside of the chestnuts is white-yellowish. You may find them in various places including parks and forests.

Chestnut Cream (1)

This is the easiest method to prepare homemade chestnut salve. First, boil the chestnuts (covers included), until they begin to soften. You can mix them using a blender and combine the mixture with pure unsalted pork fat. Store the obtained paste in a glass jar at low temperature. You may apply it to burns, injuries, rashes, frostbites about two times a day.

Chestnut Ointment (2)

This recipe is useful for treating injuries, varicose veins, external hemorrhoids, boils. Combine 100 ml of chestnut tincture with 20 g of Vaseline or organic grease and 100 g of anhydrous lanolin that you may purchase in drug stores. The obtained ointment should be stored in a glass jar at low temperature. Consider applying it to the affected areas of the skin 1-2 times a day. If you have varicose veins, softly apply the salve on your skin.

You may purchase the chestnut tincture in naturist shops, but you may also opt for preparing it at home. Grind the chestnuts and weigh 20 grams. Place them in a glass jar and add 100 ml alimentary alcohol. Let the mixture macerate for ten days, stirring the content at least three times a day.

After this period, strain the tincture and leave it for six more days in the fridge, to become clearer. Strain it once again and store it in tiny dark-colored bottles at low temperature.
