Headache Remedy – Recipe

This mixture of essential oils with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, anti-rheumatic and vasodilator properties is extremely efficient in easing bad headaches and reducing high blood pressure caused by migraines that won’t respond to medicines or tea plants.

You can find all these essential oils in the healthy food stores or online.

Ingredients

– 30 drops mint essential oil

– 30 drops lavender essential oil

– 10 drops lemon essential oil

– 10 drops wintergreen essential oil

– 10 drops birch essential oil

Other types of soothing essential oils that can be used for this recipe are: chamomile essential oil, rosemary essential oil and eucalyptus essential oil.

Preparation

Fill a ¾ of a small bottle with the essential oils listed above and after that add olive oil or coconut oil. You can use this mixture anytime you have a headache. Apply a few drops on your fingers and gently massage the forehead, the temples and the nape. This remedy is also extremely useful for colds (when applied on the forehead), back pains, muscle pains or stiff neck. You can also use it by gently massaging the affected area.

Contraindications

The birch and wintergreen essential oils are not recommended for those who suffer from epilepsy or who are allergic to aspirin. They are also not recommended for pregnant women.

If your headaches are light, you can drink a mixt tea made of chamomile, lavender, rosemary and mint (equal quantities). Let the plants infuse for 5 – 7 minutes, then strain it. This aromatic tea can be consumed warm, before bedtime.

How to Avoid Headaches

– Drink a large glass of water immediately after you wake up.

– Give up on smoking and stay away from the places where smoking is allowed.

– Avoid hunger.

– Reduce the coffee and alcohol consumption.

– Get enough sleep.
