Curing Morning Sickness Naturally

During early pregnancy weeks, lots of women complain of nausea and vomiting, a symptom known as morning sickness. More frequently experienced in the morning, these symptoms can also occur during the day.

descărcareThere are a few factors that contribute to morning sickness: certain odors, foods, fatigue, anxiety, or even vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Morning sickness is normal and there is nothing that you should be alarmed about. You can fight the nausea and vomiting with simple and natural cures.

Home Cures

1. Lemon:

The calming effect of lemons are a great way to combat nausea.

Indications:

You can mix one teaspoon each of lemon juice and mint juice with one-half teaspoon of ginger juice and one tablespoon of honey. Take this mixture 2 to 3 times a day. You can  also mix one teaspoon each of lemon juice and mint with some sugar. Consume it 3 times a day. Simply squeeze  a fresh lemon and mix the juice with a glass of water. Drink this mixture every morning to prevent nausea. You can also take a bite of a fresh-cut lemon or chew lemon-flavored candy. Even smelling fresh lemon peels can help with  morning sickness symptoms.

2.Ginger:

Ginger root is full of chemicals called gingerols and shogaols that can give relief from nausea and vomiting.

Indications:

Add 5 drops of ginger juice in a teaspoon of honey. Consume this slowly when you wake up in the morning. You can also boil grated ginger in water until the water is reduced by half. Let it cool and then add honey. Drink it on a daily basis in the morning. Make ginger tea by adding one-half teaspoon of powdered ginger to a cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 10 minutes and then strain it. Sip the tea slowly. You should not drink this tea more than 3 times a day.

Sucking on a small piece of ginger or chewing a ginger candy can also relief the nausea symptom.

3. Curry Leaves

The juice extracted from curry leaves can  combined with lime juice and sugar and ca be used as an Ayurvedic medicine to treat nausea and vomiting due to morning sickness.

Indications:

  Press 15 to 20 curry leaves on a sieve to extract the juice. Then add 2 teaspoons of fresh lime juice and 1 teaspoon of honey or sugar and mix it well. Drink this two or 3 times a day.

4. Peppermint:

The anesthetic property found in peppermint can calm the stomach and help reduce nausea.

Indications:

Brew some peppermint tea by putting one tablespoon of peppermint leaves in one cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 10 minutes and then strain it. You can add sugar or honey(optional). Drink the tea slowly. You can also try putting a few drops of peppermint essential oil on a cloth and inhale the fragrance. Again, chewing on peppermint candies can be very effective.
