The callus is usually caused by high-heeled shoes, tight shoes or by wearing the shoes without socks. This condition can also lead to dry yellow and flaky skin patches. You should not worry, because these patches are not painful, they just feel less sensitive and bumpy when you touch them. Sometimes, it can burn, throb or cause discomfort. If it’s not treated properly, the callus can cause swelling, pain, tenderness, skin infection or ulceration. The following home remedies are meant to help you deal with this problem.
This ingredient is a natural exfoliant and it’s the perfect remedy for the calluses. The baking soda contains crystals that will immediately soften the skin. Fill a tub with warm water and add baking soda (3 tablespoons). Stir the water and then put your feet in it and let the baking soda cure for about 10 minutes. After that, wash your feet and use a pumice stone to scrub the affected area.
Vinegar and Bread
This sounds a bit weird, but it is actually extremely effective. Use distilled vinegar and bread to make a paste. This way, you can reduce the chances of getting an infection and you will also soften the skin. Use warm water to soak your feet and after that rub them with a pumice stone. Dry your feet and after that use the paste made from white distilled vinegar (1/2 cup) and bread (1/2 slice). Apply the mixture on your affected area and use a bandage to keep it in place. Let the paste cure overnight. Remove it the next day and hydrate the area with moisturizing cream. Repeat the treatment every night until you see the improvement.
Calluses can be immediately treated with natural castor oil. This product is going to moisturize the rough and dry skin. Use warm water to soak the feet and a pumice stone to scrub the area.
