Beet is equipped with a massive healing potential, and it can be used as a remedy against cancer and tumors. However, its therapeutic properties are especially effective for supporting the health of the cardiovascular system, liver, and blood.

Furthermore, beet is recognized as a powerful detoxifier, having the properties of a natural tonic, encompassing an array of anti-inflammatory compounds. It’s rich in vitamins A, C, and B-complex vitamins. It contains a broad range of precious minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and powerful antioxidants.

The ideal way of administering it is in its raw form, either as juice or in a salad, combined with other veggies such as carrot, celery, and even fruit such as apple and lemon.

Beet juice shouldn’t be consumed in large quantities all of a sudden because it may cause nausea. You should grow the amount steadily, from a few spoons a day, to one cup of juice a day. Typically, a diet with beet juice should last for two or three weeks.

Beet Syrup with Honey – Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g beets
  • 500 g lemons
  • 500 g organic honey

Preparation

In order to benefit from the abundance of nutrients found in beet and lemon, it’s best to use them with their peels included. Wash them in plenty of water, and then leave them to soak in a bowl with three parts of water and one part of vinegar. Let them in there for 20 minutes, and then rub them with baking soda using a small brush. This way, you are removing part of the pesticides that may be on the peels.

Grate the beets, and squeeze the juice using a cheesecloth. Alternatively, you may use an electric juicer if you have one. Next, grate the peels of the lemons, and squeeze the juice. Combine the juice from the beet and lemon, the grated lemon peels, and honey, in a glass jar. Close the jar and let the content macerate for a few hours, in the fridge.

The syrup may be consumed as such – take a teaspoon for three or four times a day. Alternatively, you may dilute it with mineral water. It has a pleasant taste, due to the honey which sweetens it, and thanks to the lemon that grants it a particular flavor. Moreover, this remedy has the following health benefits:
