But how can you get rid of them, as long as a healthy diet includes plenty of vegetables and fruits but no pesticides? Well, there are several methods you can try for this purpose. They do not require a lot of effort or time, but they can protect your body from the damaged caused by these toxins. Let’s see some of these simple ways of removing pesticides from your food.

  • Peel Off the Skin

One of the best ways of getting rid of all those pesticides from your fruits and vegetables is to peel their skin off. Most of these chemicals are sprayed on the foods so that the highest concentration of pesticides is in their skin.

Unfortunately, not all vegetables and fruits can be peeled off. For example, it’s impossible to peel off cherries. But don’t hesitate to peel off any fruit or vegetable that allows this, such as apples, cucumbers, avocados, onions and so on. All these foods can easy become pesticide-free meals, just by using this simple method. However, if you still have doubts after peeling them off, you can also use the next method.

  • Use Warm Water for Rinsing

If cold water has almost no effect on the pesticides from your veggies and fruits, warm water is really efficient. However, you should not use hot water, because research revealed that this is actually useless, just like cold water.

Using warm water is recommended for those foods that cannot be peeled off or which are known for having a high concentration of pesticides in their skin. If you consider that the apple you just peeled off also needs a warm water rinsing, feel free to do it.

  • Wipe Them Off

Some dirt and chemicals may not be eliminated by rinsing the fruits or vegetables. You can use a damp cloth for making sure that you remove any of these chemical substances which are on the surface of the foods. After this, rinse the cloth thoroughly.

  • Use Salt Water

Salt water is often used for a deeper cleaning of the fruits and vegetables, as it has great antiseptic proprieties and it can be easily removed by washing the product. But not many people know that salt water can also eliminate pesticides.

If you have some fruits or vegetables, and you know that these are loaded with chemicals and toxins, don’t hesitate to use salt water to clean them.

Make a solution of salt and water, containing 2 glasses of water and 1 teaspoon of rock salt. Stir the solution until the salt is completely dissolved and then soak the veggies or fruits in it. Let them in this salt water for about 5-10 minutes, and then rinse them with warm water.
