How to prepare tomato juice
Tomato juice can be prepared in three ways: through a juicer, through a blender or through a meat chopper.
- If you have an electric juicer, the obtained product will be thin and clear. The disadvantage of this machine is that the pulp and the peels are wasted. The pulp is rich in fiber, vitamins and antioxidants.
- If you have a blender at home, mix one tomato at a high speed with 3-4 ice cubes and with 140 ml of water for one minute. The obtained juice will contain the pulp and it will be thicker.
- If you don’t have a juicer or a blender, put the tomatoes through the meat chopper. Serve the juice in its thick form or strain it through a sieve or a gauze.
How to consume tomato juice
You can drink one glass of tomato juice 2 or 3 times a day. If you want your beverage to be more flavorful and rich in detoxifying qualities, you can add some medical, aromatic herbs such as basil, thyme, dill, parsley or celery leaves.
You can consume a glass of tomato juice for breakfast. Due to its richness in fiber and nutrients, you will be satiated. Also, a glass of tomato juice doesn’t have many calories. It can make your metabolism work better and, in this way, your body can burn the fat.
It’s also good as a post-workout drink. A study made in a Health Institution in Greece has shown that tomato juice is good for muscle recovery.
