How to make GREEK YOGURT at home
Greek yogurt is one of the finests versions of traditional yogurt. The thick creamy consistency results from the straining process, which removes most of the liquid (whey).
It can be used in both savoury and sweet dishes, due to its rich texture.
Many commercial greek yogurt products have not been obtained through straining, but by adding various thickening agents, such as pectin, starch, guar gum or locust bean gum.
Actually, none of the dairy products sold today inspire confidence or safety. They are often diluted with water, vegetable oils, powdered milk, flour, starch, gelatin, egg white or even chalk.
So, instead of buying fake dairy products from the store, why not make our own?

Greek yogurt at home – recipe
Yogurt is usually made from milk. This recipe is additives free. Still, you need to use whole milk in order to get a quality product for your kids and family.
Ingredients
• 1 liter cow milk
• 3 tablespoons natural yogurt
Method
Put the milk in a pot and bring it to a boil. As it begins to simmer, remove the pot from the stove and let it cool down until it reaches the room temperature.
Add the yogurt, mix and cover the pot with a towel. Let it ferment until the next day.
Strain the milk through a sieve covered with gauze, placed over another pot. Let the milk strain in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
The resulted liquid is greek yogurt. Transfer it to mason jars and keep it in the fridge.
You can serve this yogurt at breakfast, with honey, fruits, cereals, nuts or seeds. Or you can add it to different sauces or creams.
