Prove Your Dentist Wrong by Healing Your Gingivitis with These Remedies
We all pay close attention to the health of our teeth, to ensure that they are white and healthy looking. But another thing we should pay close attention to is how our gums look like. Gingivitis is the first stage of a gum disease and, if diagnosed early, it is easier to treat. When it’s left unattended, gingivitis can cause the swelling of your gums, as well as irritation and redness. If you already have gingivitis, here are some homemade remedies which can help you with this problem.
- Salt
Add half a teaspoon of salt to one glass of lukewarm water. Stir the composition well, and then swish your mouth 2 or three times a day with it. Brush your teeth regularly.
- Oil Pulling
Collect a fair amount of coconut or sesame oil and swish it around your mouth for about 10 minutes. After you spit it out, wash your mouth with warm water and spit it out as well.
- Baking Soda
Make a paste using baking soda and a few drops of warm water. Put it on your toothbrush and brush your teeth with it every two days.
- Clove Oil
Dip a cotton swab in a few drops of clove oil, and hold against the affected area of the gum for a few minutes. Clove can also be chewed every day in order to prevent this disease.
- Lemon Juice
After brushing your teeth in the morning, mix some lemon juice with a glass of water and rinse your mouth thoroughly with the composition.
- Aloe Vera
For this, you will only need the Aloe Vera gel. Take an Aloe Vera leaf and slice it open, scrape out the gel and apply it to your gums. You can also make a mouthwash from this Aloe Vera gel.
- Tea Tree Oil
Drop just a little quantity of tea tree oil into your toothpaste and brush your teeth normally. Be careful as to not swallow the composition, since tea tree oil can prove to be toxic upon swallowing.
- Sage Herb
Add one tablespoon of sage leaf to a cup of boiling water. After it has simmered for about 5 minutes, you can strain it and let it cool down. Use it to rinse your mouth every day.
- Guava leaves
Guava leaves can either be chewed or made into a mouthwash. For the mouthwash, add 5 Guava leaves in two cups of boiling water, and then let them simmer for 5 minutes before straining. Rinse your mouth two or three times a day with it.
- Turmeric
Mix 4 teaspoons of Turmeric, 8 teaspoons of Neem powder, a quarter teaspoon of Alum powder and a quarter teaspoon of salt. Rub the composition on your gums and let it sit for 15 minutes. Use warm water to rinse afterwards, and repeat the process 2 times a day.
