Is Your Body Too Acidic? How to Solve the Problem
In order to keep your organs functioning properly, you need to pay attention to your body fluids. If the saliva, blood and urine are too acidic, then the transportation of the oxygen and nutrients could be compromised. But what does “too acidic” mean, more exactly? When the amount of acid in your body fluids overcompensates the alkalinity of your body, the pH scale is not balanced. The pH scale runs from 0 to 14. If the pH level is high, your body fluids will be rich in oxygen, therefore alkaline. On the other side, if the pH level gets lower, your body fluids will be acidic. Unfortunately, most of the people don’t recognize the importance of this aspect, so they don’t get tested. Here are a few signs that your body is too acidic.
- Weight Surplus
When the excess fat is not disposed from our system, the body reacts by driving the acid into the fat tissues, resulting into its adherence to the fat cells. In most of the cases, this is the main reason people don’t lose weight, despite their efforts.
- Fragile bones
In order to balance your pH level, your body pulls back a huge amount of minerals from the tissues and organs. These minerals are essential for the well-being and growth of our bones. When the quantity of calcium is too low, our bones become fragile because of the development of osteoporosis or osteopenia. If you are diagnosed with these diseases, your body might be too acidic.
- Teeth problems
Just like bones, teeth need a significant amount of calcium to avoid the demineralization of the tooth enamel. This may result in an increased sensitivity of your teeth when it comes to ingesting either cold or hot food. Other signs of acidity in your mouth are bleeding gums and cavities.
- Lethargy
Bacteria, fungi and viruses prosper in acidic environments. Too much acidic content in our bodies means more microorganisms attacking our immune system. After an unceasing battle, our body starts feeling weak and no matter what we do, we can’t feel anything but tired. Not enough nutrients result in a lack of energy.
- Dermatological problems
Another organ that suffers because of acidity is our skin. When the other organs responsible for detoxification are not responding well, the skin tries to take care of the situation. In order to avoid an overload, the toxins are exposed as rashes, acne, eczema and allergies.
How to fix the problem
It is very important to keep yourself hydrated. If you do so, the acidic excess will be in a constant moving and the process of detoxification will be facilitated. To add an extra effect, put some lemon into the water and warm it all up. Lemons help boost the pH levels. Diet is also very important. If you play your cards right and eat a lot of green vegetables and avoid caffeine, alcohol, junk food and sugar, you’re going to keep your body healthy. Last but not least, it would be a great idea to add calcium and magnesium to your daily diet, but only after talking to your doctor.
