Birch Sap – The Miraculous Remedy for Numerous Diseases
Birch, also known as the tree of life, originates in Siberia, but it also grows in various other parts of the world. The birch sap is known for its amazing properties and capacities that have been tested through numerous medicinal studies and can be utilized both internally and externally. Here are some of the numerous benefits of birch sap.
Birch Sap Properties and Benefits
– It is a great physical and mental tonic. Take 2 ml of the sap 2 times per day (in the morning and the evening). Follow the treatment for 3 – 4 weeks. Children over 10 years old should take 1 ml twice a day, during the same time periods.
– Remedy against cancer. There are numerous studies that highlight the fact that birch (especially its sap and bark) has anti-tumor properties. The betulinic acid in the birch has a cytostatic effect over the cancer cells in the tumors. It is particularly beneficial for the children. The studies have found that birch is beneficial for the ovarian, lung and breast cancer.
– Some of the compounds in birch have diuretic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, so they can be used to treat and prevent cystitis. For this, you must drink 1 liter per day, for 2 – 3 weeks.
– Fights against rheumatism. Administer 1 liter per day for 3 weeks. You can also apply poultices with birch bark powder to speed up the healing process.
– Birch sap is beneficial for the oily hair. Apply the sap all over the hair before washing it. You will see the positive results after the first application. Use this treatment 5 – 6 times during 2 – 3 days. Your hair will be healthier and stronger.
– Eliminates kidney stones. You can get rid of kidney stones by following a 20-day treatment with birch sap. You can find it in the healthy food stores. Consume 0.5 liters in the first day, 0.6 liters the second day and so on until you get to 1 liter per day in the fifth day. Drink this quantity for 10 days, after which you can reduce it slowly with 0.1 liter per day. In the last day of the treatment, you must consume again 0.5 liters of sap.
How to Obtain Birch Sap
If you want to prepare the birch sap on your own, then you must collect the sap during March and April. You can obtain it by drilling inside the trunk for about 4 – 8 cm or you can also drill inside some younger branches if that’s easier. You will see how a clear liquid starts running out of the trunk. It has a sour-sweet taste – this is the birch sap. You can do this procedure only with the mature birches, and after collecting 250 – 500 ml of the sap (around 1 – 2 cups), you must immediately cover the hole with resin or wax to stop the leak and not affect the vitality and life of the tree.
Administration
The birch sap must be consumed immediately after collecting it, when it’s still very fresh. This way, you will make sure that the vitamins, enzymes and other complex organic substances in its composition don’t become rusty.
For treatment, adults must take 0.5 – 1 liter per day, while children between 8 and 12 years old must take between 200 – 500 ml per day. Kids between 4 and 8 years old should only take 100 – 300 ml per day. The treatment can last for as long as you can extract the sap from the tree.
