Aging is an inevitable stage in everyone’s life. We cannot cancel it, but we sure have the power to delay its signs. Here are 12 signs to look out for:
- The sleeping position
Sleeping on the back will lower the chances of you getting wrinkles. Sleeping on the side or sleeping with the face down will have the exact opposite effect.
- Choose silk pillow cases
Unlike cotton pillow cases, the ones made of silk are softer for the face. This fabric allows the moisturizers to sit on your face, unlike the case of cotton that absorbs them.
- Use Alpha Hydroxy Acids skin products
They will delay the aging process of the skin by lifting the layer of the dead skin cells, by reducing the occurrence of pores and by making fine lines and wrinkles disappear. The production of collagen will also be stimulated and the skin will have a glowing look.
- Replace coffee with cocoa
Researchers have found that cocoa is filled with antioxidants such as epicatechin and catechin which will protect the skin against the damages of the sun, hydrate it and make it look and feel smooth.
- Eat fish
Salmon is the best option you could go for. It is rich in proteins and it is also rich in omega 3 fatty acids which will nourish the skin, preventing the formation of fine lines and, in the end, of wrinkles.
- Eat foods rich in antioxidants
Fruits and vegetables are the best examples of these types of foods. They will also protect your body from the action of free radicals.
- Use soy
Not only that you can cook it, but you can also apply it on your face or take it as a supplement. The structure of your skin will be improved, as well as its firmness.
- Use SPF creams
To maximize their effects, use SPF skin care products with an SPF agent of at least 30. We know you’ve heard it all before, but SPF really does work in the protection of your skin!
- Take care of your neck
Your face is not the only one affected by the aging process. Your neck is too. Make sure to apply moisturizer on it too to prevent the wrinkles and fine lines.
- Practice yoga
You might be surprised to find this out, but yoga will also make your skin look better. It doesn’t just correct your body posture. Try to practice it at least twice a week and you will be surprised by the results you will get.
- Don’t squint
This will put your facial muscles to too much work and cause a groove on the surface of the skin. This groove could easily become a wrinkle in time. Wear sunglasses when you go out in the summer, to protect even better the skin around your eyes.
