burning face mask for scars and blemishes

One of the best ways to take care of your skin is to use natural homemade remedies and try to avoid burdening it with even more chemicals and unnatural substances. Use the ingredients you have in your kitchen not only for your food, but also for your skin.

For instance, use cinnamon as a main ingredient for a face mask intended to remove scars and blemishes. The Burning Mask, as it is called, gained its name from the tingling sensation produced by the cinnamon when it comes in contact with the skin. With anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, the cinnamon is also rich in antioxidants.

Another ingredient for this mask is nutmeg. Rich in vitamin C and A, it also possesses many antioxidants, such as beta-carotene or crypto-xanthine and many B-vitamins.

Honey and lemon juice are used to incorporate these two ingredients. Honey is well known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, while lemon juice has an astringent effect on the skin and, helped by vitamin C, it has a great contribution in producing collagen and in balancing the skin tone.

You probably wonder by now, what quantities are needed for each ingredient. Therefore here is the recipe:

  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • ½ teaspoon of grounded nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice – freshly squeezed

Place all the ingredients in a bowl and start mixing them until you obtain a homogeneous paste. Apply the mask on the affected areas such as nose, cheeks, forehead and chin, using a small towel. Carefully, avoid the area near the eyes and let it stay still for about 30 minutes. Afterwards, take it off using warm water.

Do not forget that this mask is naturally causing a tingling sensation, so you do not have to worry if that happens. It will go away in a few minutes. However, if you feel that this tingling sensation is prolonged and doesn’t seem to go away, keep the mask for only 10 minutes. Also, if you have sensitive skin, lemon juice might affect it, so it is recommendable to add more honey so that the mixture becomes thicker or, you can skip the lemon juice altogether.

Any type of scar or blemish can disappear if proper attention and care is provided. Moreover, using only natural ingredients helps the skin heal faster. It also offers a healthier look that has a positive impact on its possessor.
