Delicious and Healthy Coconut Water and Cinnamon Kefir
This kefir is one of the easiest recipes that will ameliorate your health. This coconut kefir is beneficial for low energy levels, blood sugar problems, cravings, digestive issues and excess weight.
This drink is packed with enzymes, minerals, vitamins and good bacteria, which are essential for a strong immune and digestive system.
This beverage is easy to make, especially if you can get your hands on some young Thai coconuts. You will identify these coconuts by the white shell that they have. If you don’t have coconuts within your reach, you can replace them with raw coconut water of high quality. After you purchased the coconuts or the water, you will start by seething it with kefir bacteria cultures. This will create a sparkly beverage that is going to aid your digestive and immune system, as well as detoxify your body, help you get rid of sugar craving and ameliorate your endocrine system.
Opening coconuts can be a burden if you have absolutely no idea how to do it, so here is an easy method to help you:
- Put one coconut on the towel and turn it until the end faces the knife. Use the knife to cut off the pointed top until you see a light brow husk. Turn the coconut and make a small hole into the brown husk. Pour the coconut water into a jar and cut the white pieces and freeze them. This way, you will be able to use them in later recipes.
What do I need and how to make this beverage
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1-quart glass jar with lid (make sure you sterilize the jar)
- 4 cups young coconut water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 tablespoons water kefir grains or 1 kefir starter
Your first step is to pour the coconut water into the jar and then add the cinnamon stick and the kefir grains. You can also leave the cinnamon stick for the second ferment. If you are using kefir starter and not kefir grains, heat the water to 92 degrees F and then pour it into the jar. Then, you can start stirring the kefir starter, add the cinnamon and cover the jar with the lid.
Let the mix stay at room temperature for about 24-45 hours. You will know the mix is ready when it turns somehow milky white and bubbly. After 24 hours, take your first taste of this kefir by pouring a small amount into a glass and drink it. If it’s ready, you can strain the kefir grains and cinnamon stick. You can store this cinnamon and coconut water kefir in the refrigerator for 7 to 14 days.
You can also reuse your kefir strains to make another batch of this beverage right away or you can store them in sugar water in the refrigerator even for 1 month.
Sounds like there could be so many possibilities to use this in.
