Create Your Own Apple Night Cream
We all know that we need to take care of our skin during the day with things like sunscreen, moisturizer, eye cream, cleanser, toner, etc. A good skincare routine keeps your complexion youthful and glowing. But what not everyone knows is that your skin also needs to be nourished at night. In fact, nighttime is the perfect opportunity to opt for a richer, heavier cream, because your skin will have plenty of time to absorb it all and look wonderful by the time morning rolls around.
But creams and skin treatments can get expensive, so sometimes, it’s better to DIY it. Today’s offering is a recipe for an apple night cream that you can easily do at home and which will provide you with the same kind of benefits any expensive, store-bought cream would.
Why apples? Because they are bursting with healthy, highly beneficial substances for your skin. Antioxidants, malic acid, beta-carotene and vitamin C, vitamin B and vitamin A are all contained in this wonderful piece of fruit which will provide you with bright, young skin.
Alpha hydroxyl acids, such as malic acid, for example, are very good for exfoliating purposes and leaving your skin as smooth and soft as possible. Surely you know how good the antioxidants in apples are, giving your skin the radiance so many women crave.
Olive oil is another miracle, universally-good ingredient that can do no harm. Olive oil is nature’s best moisturizer and it can prevent and reverse the unpleasant fine lines and wrinkles, as well as age spots and hyperpigmentation.
Last, but not least, rose water has become a must-have skin treatment, in recent years. Used by beauty enthusiasts around the world, rose water has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities and it helps regenerate, heal and revitalize your skin.
Ingredients:
- Rose water
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Apples
Instructions:
Begin by cutting the apple, removing the seeds and chopping it. Take the pieces and throw them in the blender together with ½ cup of olive oil and allow it to mix for around 5 minutes. The resulting paste should be thick. The concoction can now be heated for a while, then let to cool off. Once it has cooled, you can add ½ cup of rose water. All you have to do now is pour it into a container and then you can start using it.
Extra notes:
- The cream will last for an average of five days, as long as it is stored properly in the fridge. Make sure to use it daily.
- Remember to always cleanse and wash your face thoroughly before applying your night cream. You want your skin to be completely clean, with no traces of makeup or dirt that can sink into your skin overnight.
- Don’t limit yourself to applying it to your face; the cream is suitable for any skin type and any part of your body, including problematic areas such as feet.
- You can add more ingredients to the cream, if you want. Other oils or vitamins can only enhance its beauty and health properties.
Night creams are just as important as day creams, so don’t overlook nightly application. It only takes a few minutes to make this and those few moments spend applying it at night are completely worth it.
