More and more people eliminate milk from their diet and the reasons that stay behind this decision are various. Some have heard that this way they will get a better looking skin, others feel that they could lose some extra pounds. What is the truth, after all?
A research that has been conducted on 27,000 people and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition concluded that milk and all dairy products will increase the risk of diabetes. Wondering why? Probably because the natural fat in these products is replaced with sugar, so if you believe that the non-fat dairy products will help you, think again.
Here are the aspects involved in the consumption of milk:
- Weight – 12,000 children were involved in a research that showed how milk can contribute to gaining weight. So, if you are trying to lose some weight, this is a great place to start. Stay away from cow milk.
- Improvement of digestion – Once you take milk out of your diet, your digestive system will be significantly improved. In 2014, another study has been conducted and published in the British Journal stating that 65% of the people that are known to have an intolerance to milk and to lactose, in general, will have lower chances of getting breast, lung or ovarian cancer. One explanation for this phenomenon is simply the fact that they do not consume milk or any other dairy products.
- The skin – Experts say that the people who are suffering from some skin conditions such as acne, eczema, rashes or any other unpleasant conditions should avoid eating or drinking any dairy products. Their situation will only get worse because of all the artificial sugar that is added to them on a regular basis.
- The bones – One thing about milk we know from childhood is the fact that it contains a great amount of calcium, which can only be great for our bones. However, in spite of this already established concept, the study that has been published in the British Journal concluded that avoiding the consumption of milk or any other dairy products, for that matter, will bring additional strength to a person’s bone system. Moreover, researchers seem to have find out that the greater the amount of milk you take in, the greater the chances of you getting a hip fracture are.
Now, as you can see, all these new studies have shown nothing else but the fact that you can leave behind all those sayings about milk. People can live without it and can even avoid having some health issues that might, in fact, be caused by it. So, give it a try! Stop drinking it for a few months and see how you feel afterwards.
